Figure 3.0 Overall lock screen progress |
Techniques Applied:
Video Timeline: Used to combine both vertical and square animations into a single cohesive sequence.
Define Custom Shape: Converted the phone screen template into a custom shape to be used as a clipping mask.
Clipping Mask: Applied to remove excess corners and ensure the animation stays neatly within the shape of the phone screen.
4.0 REFLECTION
I encountered some difficulty when I tried to import the animated video from After Effects into Photoshop in order to apply a mask. No matter what I did, the file didn’t seem to work the way I expected, and it became quite frustrating as I wasn’t sure what I was doing wrong. After spending some time troubleshooting on my own, I decided to ask a friend who has more experience with animation and software integration. Thankfully, she was able to guide me through the process and explained the correct steps to make it work. Her help really saved me a lot of time, and I also learned something new that I can apply in future projects. This experience reminded me of the importance of asking for help and learning from others when facing technical challenges.
