Exercises
1.0 EXERCISES
Objective: Design a functional "Smart Assistant" avatar or UI widget using vector tools.
The Task: Using the drawing tools in Adobe Animate (Pen, Oval, Rectangle), create a character or a central UI hub.
Requirements:
- Use Object Drawing Mode to keep shapes clean.
- The "Layer Rule": Every part that needs to move (eyes, arms, glowing core) must be on its own named layer.
Class Exercise - Animating a Spider
After Mr. Shamsul gave a tutorial on how to create a simple animation in class, he assigned us to animate a spider. The spider was animated using classic tween and motion tween, with easing effect adjustments to make the animation more lively. The first version of my spider did not have obvious movement in the spider’s legs, so Mr. Shamsul helped me improve it by shortening the FPS from 20 to 5.
Character Sketch
My character was inspired by one of the characters from my IVN project. I skipped the re-sketching process because I had already sketched it a year ago, so I proceeded directly with the sketch
Final Character Design
After tracing the character, I organised and labelled each part of the character into separate layers. Next, I converted each layer into a movie clip symbol.
